What to Expect:

Three days of spectacular alpine hiking with a comfortable cabin to stay in! Explore a true

wilderness without having to carry a heavy backpack full of camping gear and food. This hike

takes you through the Trophy Mountains, a series of nine peaks in the Southern Cariboo

Mountains of Wells Gray Provincial Park. High alpine peaks, stunning ridge walks, sparkling

clear alpine lakes and spectacular mountain meadows full of flowers makes the Trophy

Mountains an unforgettable destination.

Day 1: We will meet at our office at 9:00 am. After introductions, you will have a one hour

drive up a dirt road to the trailhead at 5300 ft. (1630m). The trail goes up through mature

forest and into lush meadows of alpine flowers. This trail is a steady up-hill walk though there

are many nice places to stop and interesting things to see. After approximately one hour on

the trail, we break for cookies and fruit near a beautiful stream. After another 30 minutes we

reach a flower meadow looking into Raft Mountain. It is pure alpine from here to the Trophy

Mountain Chalet which sits at 7000 ft (2153m). The view from the Chalet is superb, and the

area has great hiking with small peaks, lakes, and flower meadows everywhere. The hike from

the road takes about two and a half hours and we gain 1700 ft. (523m) over 4 km. After lunch

you will have a short day hike to the top of Look-out Peak for a fantastic view of the Cariboo

and Monashee Mountains.

Day 2: Today you can hike in the surrounding Trophy Mountains, climb to the tops of Marmot

and Ptarmigan Peaks, and swim in the numerous lakes. You will be treated to fantastic views

all day and an incredible feeling of wilderness. This option will take about six hours and cover

approximately 7 km. If you would prefer to have a nature walk in the vicinity of the cabin, or

reading and playing games is more your style, then this is how you can choose to spend the

day. Speak with your guide to find the best option for you.

Day 3: Today is your choice, you can have a lazy morning to enjoy the fantastic view and a

great breakfast, and then make the a half-day hike in the surrounding mountain wilderness.

After a great lunch at the chalet, you will hike down the mountain to the van. We will take you

to see the world- famous Wells Gray Waterfalls to make your trip complete. If you want a

bigger adventure, your guide can take you into Raft Mountain for a glimpse of the Crystal

Lake before heading to the waterfalls. This hike would take a full day.
